The migration will involve the packaging of each account on Orion, moving it to the new server, Sunder, and restoring it in its exact same state as it was previously. All files, emails, databases, and settings will remain the same once the migration of the server is complete.
What does this mean for my website?
This means that your website will be hosted on a brand new server located in our new, Toronto data centre. Your website will continue to be available throughout the migration; however, as the DNS propogates your visitors may be visiting the "old" copy of your site which is still resident on Orion until your account migration is completed. Specific instructions will be sent out via email to inform you of any specific actions you need to take during the migration window.
What you need to do:
If your accounts are utilizing the Autumn Walker DNS cluster (as per our default configuration) DNS changes will take place automatically and no action will be needed on your part. If you are utilizing a 3rd party DNS provider, you will need to update your domain's IP address once the migration is complete. If your account currently has a dedicated IP address, you will be assigned a new, dedicated IP address.
If you are using the orion.autumnwalker.ca domain to access cPanel, webmail, etc. you will need to update your links to the new server URL, sunder.autumnwalker.ca, to access your cPanel, webmail, etc. Alternatively you can always access cPanel via links in Cortex or by visiting https://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel.
